50-7-12. Operation and improvement of existing airports--Leasing and subleasing--Expenses. The governing body of a municipality or county which has established an airport or landing field and acquired, leased, or set apart real property for such purpose may construct, improve, equip, maintain, and operate the same and shall have authority to lease or sublet such property for airport purposes. The expenses of such construction, improvement, equipment, maintenance, and operation shall be a municipality or county charge as the case may be.
