9-43-59. Payment to certificate holder of assessment or installment--Endorsement and filing of certificate or coupon. Upon return to the municipal treasurer of any such assessment certificate or installment coupon, he shall pay over to the holder thereof the amount due thereon and shall write or stamp upon such assessment certificate or installment coupon the word "paid" and the date of payment, and deliver such certificate or coupon to the auditor or clerk, who shall file the same in numerical order in his office.
