12-3-606. Life cycle costs used in purchase of major energy-consuming products.
Where energy efficiency standards are established, the board of standards shall adopt rules requiring life cycle costs to be used by the commissioner in contracting for major energy-consuming products. In determining life cycle costs, the board of standards and the commissioner may consider the acquisition cost of the product, the energy consumption and the projected cost of energy over the useful life of the product, and the anticipated resale or salvage value of the product.
