20-9-608. Fines for practicing court reporting without a license. [Effective July 1, 2010.]
After January 1, 2010, any person who undertakes or attempts to undertake the practice of court reporting for remuneration without first having procured a license, who knowingly presents or files false information with the board for the purpose of obtaining a license or who violates this part shall be subject to a civil fine not exceeding one thousand dollars ($1,000). Each day's violation is a separate offense. A person who is not licensed may not bring or maintain an action to recover fees for court reporting services that the person performed in violation of this part.
