55-20-101. County and municipal participation authorized Approval by governor Conformity with uniform standards of secretary of commerce.

All counties and municipalities are authorized to carry out local highway safety programs within their jurisdictions as part of the state highway safety program if the local highway safety programs are approved by the governor, and are in accordance with the uniform standards of the secretary of commerce promulgated pursuant to the Federal Highway Safety Act of 1966.
