71-2-601. Establishment of task force Volunteer members Appointment of members.
(a) (1) The Tennessee Alzheimer's disease task force (TADTF) is established.
(2) The TADTF shall consist of fourteen (14) volunteer members, who shall include:
(A) The chair of the general welfare committee of the senate or the chair's designee;
(B) The chair of the health and human resources committee of the house of representatives or the chair's designee;
(C) One (1) member of the senate to be appointed by the speaker of the senate;
(D) One (1) member of the house of representatives to be appointed by the speaker of the house of representatives;
(E) At least one (1) person with Alzheimer's disease;
(F) One (1) caregiver of a person with Alzheimer's disease;
(G) A representative of the Tennessee Health Care Association;
(H) A representative of the Tennessee Association of Homes and Services for the Aging;
(I) A representative of the Tennessee Association for Adult Day Services;
(J) A representative of the medical care provider community;
(K) An Alzheimer's disease researcher;
(L) A representative of the Mid-South chapter of the Alzheimer's Association;
(M) A representative of the Eastern Tennessee chapter of the Alzheimer's Association; and
(N) A representative of the Northeast/Southeast Tennessee chapter of the Alzheimer's Association.
(3) Nonlegislative members of the TADTF shall be appointed by the governor.
(b) Appointments shall be made within sixty (60) days after July 1, 2007. The governor shall designate the chair of the TADTF and shall set the date of the first meeting of the TADTF. At the organizational meeting, a vice chair and secretary shall be elected from the committee's membership.
