8-30-209. Classification plan Statement of minimum qualifications.
(a) The commissioner shall ascertain duties, authority and responsibilities of all positions in the career service. After consultation with the appointing authorities, the commissioner shall prepare and recommend to the governor a classification plan, which shall group all positions in the career service in classes, based on their duties, authority and responsibilities. Such classification plan shall set forth, for each class of positions, a class title and a statement of the duties, authority and responsibilities thereof. Each class of positions may be subdivided, and classes may be grouped and ranked in such manner as is deemed appropriate. The classification plan shall take effect when approved by the governor, or on the thirtieth day after it is recommended to the governor, if prior thereto it has not been disapproved by the governor.
(b) The commissioner shall also prepare a statement of the minimum qualifications for each class of positions in the career service.
