30-3-16.2. Petition for conciliation.
Prior to the filing of any action for divorce, annulment, or separate maintenance, eitherspouse or both spouses may file a petition for conciliation in the family court division invokingthe jurisdiction of the court for the purpose of preserving the marriage by effecting areconciliation between the parties or an amicable settlement of the controversy between them soas to avoid litigation over the issues involved.
