§ 53. Repeal of acts not to affect pending causes

The repeal of the former law revised and reenacted in the Vermont Statutes Annotated or repugnant to the provisions thereof shall not affect an action or proceeding had or commenced in a civil or criminal cause before the repeal takes effect, but the proceedings therein shall, when necessary, conform to the provisions of the Vermont Statutes Annotated.
