§ 3672. -Selectmen's duties; recovery
In case of failure so to do in a town through which such road passes, the selectmen shall send notice thereof by mail to the principal office of such person or corporation. In case such failure continues for ten days after notice, the selectmen shall forthwith cause the thistles and weeds to be destroyed at the expense of the town. Such town shall thereupon be entitled to recover from such person or corporation its actual cost for destroying the thistles and weeds. In the event such person or corporation fails to pay to the town such cost for 60 days from the time the selectmen shall send notice thereof by mail to the principal office of such person or corporation, such town shall be entitled to recover such cost including a reasonable fee paid to an attorney for the recovery in an action on this statute.
