§ 611. Possession of license certificate

Every licensee shall have his or her operator's license certificate in his immediate possession at all times when operating a motor vehicle. However, no person charged with violating this section or section 610 of this title shall be convicted if he or she produces in court or to the arresting officer an operator's license certificate theretofore issued to him or her and valid at the time of his or her arrest or within 14 days following its expiration.
