§ 2530. Telephones in public areas
The selectmen of a town (or the agency of transportation in the case of state highways) may upon written application and after notice to adjacent landowners permit the construction, erection and maintenance of public telephones, telephone booths and appurtenances thereto within the limits of public highways, sidewalks, parks and parking areas when consistent with the public interest under such reasonable rules, regulations and arrangements as they may prescribe.
