§ 10.1-1170. Administration of article.

The State Forester shall administer the provisions of this article, includingthe protection, preservation and perpetuation of forest resources by means ofreforestation to allow continuous growth of timber on lands suitabletherefor, and is authorized to employ personnel; purchase equipment,materials, and supplies; maintain and transport equipment; and make otherexpenditures and payments authorized by law, and as directed by theregulations adopted for the administration of this article. In any one fiscalyear, the expenditures for salaries of administrative supervisory personnelshall not exceed ten percent of the general fund appropriation and forestproducts taxes collected and deposited in the Reforestation of TimberlandsFund as provided in § 10.1-1174 for that particular year.
