§ 10.1-1417. Enforcement of article.

The Department shall have the authority to contract with other state andlocal governmental agencies having law-enforcement powers for services andpersonnel reasonably necessary to carry out the provisions of this article.In addition, all law-enforcement officers in the Commonwealth and thoseemployees of the Department of Game and Inland Fisheries vested with policepowers shall enforce the provisions of this article and regulations adoptedhereunder, and are hereby empowered to arrest without warrant, personsviolating any provision of this article or any regulations adopted hereunder.The foregoing enforcement officers may serve and execute all warrants andother process issued by the courts in enforcing the provisions of thisarticle and regulations adopted hereunder.
