10.1-540 - Demonstrational projects.

§ 10.1-540. Demonstrational projects.

Districts are authorized to conduct demonstrational projects within thedistrict on lands owned or controlled by the Commonwealth or any of itsagencies, with the consent and cooperation of the agency administering andhaving jurisdiction thereof, and on any other lands within the district uponobtaining the consent of the owner and occupier of such lands or thenecessary rights or interests in such lands. The purpose of such projects isto demonstrate by example the means, methods, and measures by which soil andwater resources may be conserved, and soil erosion in the form of soilwashing may be prevented and controlled, and works of improvement for floodprevention or agricultural and nonagricultural phases of the conservation,development, utilization, and disposal of water may be carried out.
