15.2-1624 - When judgment against officer or sureties has been obtained and paid.

§ 15.2-1624. When judgment against officer or sureties has been obtained andpaid.

If any judgment or decree is obtained against a sheriff, or other officer, orhis sureties, or their personal representatives, for or on account of thedefault or misconduct of any such deputy and shall be paid in whole or inpart by any defendant therein, he or his personal representative may, onmotion, obtain a judgment or decree against such deputy and his sureties andtheir personal representatives for the amount so paid, with interest thereonfrom the time of such payment and five percent damages on such amount.
