§ 15.2-1636.16. Appropriations chargeable with Commonwealth's proportion ofsalaries, etc.

The Commonwealth's proportion of the salaries, expenses and other allowancesof the treasurers, commissioners of the revenue, attorneys for theCommonwealth, and sheriffs shall be paid out of the appropriations made forthose purposes in the general appropriation act.

The budgets fixed by the Compensation Board may thereafter be amended by theCompensation Board upon the request of the officer or local governing body orwhen changed circumstances so require. No budget shall be increased if anyportion of the increase is payable from local funds without the concurrenceof the local governing body.

All provisions of charters of cities and towns inconsistent with theprovisions of this article are hereby repealed to the extent of suchinconsistency.
