§ 15.2-1713. Localities authorized to offer and pay rewards in felony andmisdemeanor cases.

When any felony or misdemeanor has been committed, or there has been anyattempt to commit a felony in any locality, the governing body of thelocality or its duly authorized agent may offer and pay a reward for thearrest and final conviction of the person or persons who committed the felonyor misdemeanor or attempted to commit the felony. The reward may be paid outof the general fund of such locality.
