§ 15.2-2656. Appeals.

An appeal from the final judgment of the circuit court in a bond validationproceeding may be taken to the Supreme Court of Virginia. No appeal shall beallowed unless a notice of appeal is filed in the circuit court within 15days after the date on which the final judgment of the court is entered andunless the appealing party's petition for appeal is filed with the SupremeCourt of Virginia within 30 days after the date on which the final judgmentof the court is entered. When a notice of appeal is timely and properly filedwith the clerk of the circuit court, the clerk shall certify and transmit therecord to the Clerk of the Supreme Court of Virginia within 30 days after thedate on which the final judgment of the circuit court is entered. Failure ofthe clerk to comply with this requirement shall not affect the jurisdictionof the Supreme Court of Virginia to consider the appeal. If the Supreme Courtof Virginia grants the petition for appeal, it shall be placed on theprivileged docket.
