§ 15.2-3814. Mayor of town to continue in office.

If a town becomes a city under this chapter, the mayor of the town shall bethe mayor of the city; shall receive the same salary and fees; and shalldischarge the duties, be vested with the authority and be subject to thepenalties imposed on him by the charter or general law. He shall serve untilhis successor is elected and qualified.
