§ 15.2-838. Department of records.

The department of records shall be under the supervision and control of thecounty clerk. He shall be clerk of the circuit court of the county and, ifdesignated by the board, clerk for the county court. The county clerk shallalso be clerk of the board unless the board designates some other person forthis purpose. He shall exercise the powers conferred and perform the dutiesimposed upon such officers by general law and shall be subject to theobligations and penalties imposed by general law. He shall also perform suchother duties the board imposes upon him.
