16.1-355 - Review of standby guardianship.

§ 16.1-355. Review of standby guardianship.

A child's parent, stepparent, adult sibling or any adult related to the childby blood, marriage or adoption may petition the court which approved thestandby guardian at any time following such approval and prior to anytermination of the standby guardianship for review of whether continuation ofthe standby guardianship is in the best interests of the child. Notice of thefiling of a petition shall promptly be given to the standby guardian, thechild, if the child is twelve or more years of age, and each parent of thechild whose identity and whereabouts are known or could reasonably beascertained.
