§ 17.1-214. Clerk to deliver or send process to sheriff.

The clerk of the circuit court from whose office may be issued any process,original, mesne or final, or any order or decree to be served on any person,shall, unless the party interested, or his attorney, direct otherwise,deliver the same to the sheriff of the county or city for which the court isheld, if it is to be executed therein, and if it is to be executed in anyother county or city, shall enclose the same to the sheriff thereof, properlyaddressed, put it in the post office and pay the postage thereon.
