17.1-250 - Correction of indexes.

§ 17.1-250. Correction of indexes.

No clerk or deputy clerk of any court in which deeds are recorded shallcorrect any indexing mistake by insertion, or alter or reprint the page,unless, at the time of such insertion, alteration or reprinting, he (i) notesthe date and nature of the change in the margin of the index and places hisname or initials upon same or (ii) by any other means capable of maintaininga permanent record of the change together with the original recording,indicates the date and nature of the change and the name of the person whomade it.
