§ 17.1-291. Penalty for officers.

Any officer failing to comply with the duties imposed upon him by theprovisions of this article shall forfeit to the Commonwealth not less than$25 nor more than $500 for each such failure, such forfeiture to be enforcedby the attorney for the Commonwealth in the circuit court having criminaljurisdiction in his city or county.
