17.1-903 - Officers and employees; experts and reporters; witnesses; legal counsel.

§ 17.1-903. Officers and employees; experts and reporters; witnesses; legalcounsel.

The Commission may (i) employ such officers, assistants, and other employeesit deems necessary for the performance of its duties; (ii) arrange for andcompensate medical and other experts and reporters; (iii) arrange forattendance of witnesses, including witnesses not subject to subpoena; and(iv) pay from funds available to it all expenses reasonably necessary foreffectuating the purposes of Article VI, Section 10 of the Constitution ofVirginia and the provisions of this chapter, whether or not specificallyenumerated herein. The Attorney General shall, if requested by theCommission, act as its counsel generally or in any particular investigationor proceeding.

The Commission may employ counsel, notwithstanding the provisions of §2.2-510.
