18.2-165.2 - Unlawful interference with emergency two-way radio communications; penalty.

§ 18.2-165.2. Unlawful interference with emergency two-way radiocommunications; penalty.

A. It shall be unlawful for any person to knowingly and willfully (i)interfere with the transmission of a radio communication, the purpose ofwhich is to inform or to inquire about an emergency or (ii) transmit falseinformation about an emergency.

B. For the purposes of this section, "emergency" means a condition orcircumstance in which an individual is or is reasonably believed by theperson transmitting the communication to be in imminent danger of death orserious bodily harm or in which property is in imminent danger of damage ordestruction.

C. Any person who violates the provisions of this section shall be guilty ofa Class 1 misdemeanor.
