§ 2.2-2028. GIS Fund created.

There is hereby created in the state treasury a special, nonreverting fund tobe known as the GIS Fund, hereafter referred to as the Fund. The Fund shallbe established on the books of the Comptroller. All moneys collected pursuantto subsection A of § 2.2-2027 shall be paid into the state treasury andcredited to the Fund. Interest earned on moneys in the Fund shall remain inthe Fund and be credited to it. Any moneys remaining in the Fund, includinginterest thereon, at the end of each fiscal year shall not revert to thegeneral fund but shall remain in the Fund. Moneys in the Fund shall be usedsolely for the purposes set forth in this article. Expenditures anddisbursements from the Fund shall be made by the State Treasurer on warrantsissued by the Comptroller upon written request signed by the CIO.
