2.2-2708.1 - Possession of certain military medals.

§ 2.2-2708.1. Possession of certain military medals.

To preserve the dignity of military medals authorized to be worn by theUnited States Department of Defense and the memory of those who have renderedfaithful service and sacrifice in the cause of freedom and liberty, theFoundation shall be vested with the full authority to take possession of anymilitary medals, ribbons or certificates that come into the possession of theCommonwealth for which the ownership is unknown until such time as the trueowner is able to take possession. The Foundation shall take reasonableefforts, based on available resources, to determine the true owner and returnany military medal, ribbon or certificate that comes into its possessionpursuant to this section.
