2.2-3125 - Limitation of actions.

§ 2.2-3125. Limitation of actions.

The statute of limitations for the criminal prosecution of a person forviolation of any provision of this chapter shall be one year from the timethe Attorney General, if the violation is by a state officer or employee, orthe attorney for the Commonwealth, if the violation is by a local officer oremployee, has actual knowledge of the violation or five years from the dateof the violation, whichever event occurs first. Any prosecution formalfeasance in office shall be governed by the statute of limitationsprovided by law.
