22.1-209.1 - Model programs in elementary developmental guidance and counseling.
§ 22.1-209.1. Model programs in elementary developmental guidance andcounseling.
With such funds as are appropriated for this purpose, the Board of Educationshall establish a program to strengthen developmental guidance and counselingin the elementary schools which shall consist of grants for model projectsawarded on a competitive basis to applicants responding to requests forproposals.
The Board shall appoint an advisory committee of experts in developmentalguidance and counseling to assist in the development of the criteria forawarding these grants, the contents of the request for proposals, inevaluating and in ranking the applications and in making the awards. Allschool divisions shall be eligible to receive such grants upon making timelyapplication. The first set of grants shall be awarded, if funds areavailable, by January 1, 1985.
