§ 22.1-21. Appointment and qualification.
The Superintendent of Public Instruction shall be appointed by the Governor,after consultation with the Board of Education among others, subject toconfirmation by the General Assembly, for a term coincident with that of theGovernor making the appointment. Any vacancy shall be filled in the samemanner. The Superintendent of Public Instruction shall be an experiencededucator.
