§ 23-223. Chancellor of Community Colleges generally.

(a) A Chancellor of Community Colleges, hereinafter sometimes called theChancellor, shall be appointed by the State Board for Community Colleges. Anyvacancy shall be filled by the Board. The Chancellor shall be the chiefexecutive officer of the System. The Chancellor shall, without additionalcompensation, serve as secretary to the State Board for Community Colleges.

(b) The salary of the Chancellor shall be fixed by the Board.

(c) Before entering upon the discharge of the duties of his office, theChancellor shall qualify by taking and subscribing the oath required of allofficers of the Commonwealth.
