§ 23-50.10. Rights and powers of board generally; appointment, etc., ofpresident, faculty and staff; rules and regulations.

The board of visitors shall be vested with all the rights and powersconferred upon it by this chapter insofar as the same are not inconsistentwith the general laws of the Commonwealth.

The board shall appoint the president, who shall be the chief executiveofficer of the University, and all professors, teachers, staff members andagents, and shall fix their salaries and shall prescribe their duties.

The board shall make all rules and regulations it deems advisable concerningthe University and shall generally direct the affairs and business of theUniversity.
