§ 23-85. Commonwealth to be trustee of donations; liability of StateTreasurer.

The Commonwealth is hereby constituted the trustee for the safekeeping anddue application of all funds which may be deposited in the treasury inpursuance of § 23-81. The State Treasurer and the sureties in his officialbond shall be liable for the money or other funds deposited as aforesaid, andseparate accounts of each such deposit shall be kept by the accountingofficers of the Commonwealth in the same manner as are other public funds.
