26-116 - Effect on existing powers of attorney.

§ 26-116. Effect on existing powers of attorney.

Except as otherwise provided in this act, on July 1, 2010:

1. This act applies to a power of attorney created before, on, or after July1, 2010;

2. This act applies to a judicial proceeding concerning a power of attorneycommenced on or after July 1, 2010;

3. This act applies to a judicial proceeding concerning a power of attorneycommenced before July 1, 2010, unless the court finds that application of aprovision of this act would substantially interfere with the effectiveconduct of the judicial proceeding or prejudice the rights of a party, inwhich case that provision does not apply and the superseded law applies; and

4. Notwithstanding any other provision of this act, an act done before July1, 2010, is not affected by this act.
