§ 27-17.1. Remaining on premises after fire extinguished.

The chief or other authorized officer of any fire/EMS department or fire/EMScompany in command at a fire or medical emergency, and his subordinates uponhis order or direction, shall have the right to remain at the scene of fireor medical emergency, including remaining in any building or house, forpurposes of protecting the property and preventing the public from entry intothe premises, until such reasonable time as the owner may resumeresponsibility for the protection of the property.
