28.2-517 - Marking ground.

§ 28.2-517. Marking ground.

A person shall not dredge or scrape his oyster-planting ground unless he hasfirst properly designated and marked the oyster-planting ground as prescribedby the Commission in accordance with § 28.2-607. The initials of the lesseeshall be displayed on all lease corners in black letters on a whitebackground not less than five inches in length. If it appears to theinspector that such ground is not properly marked, he may immediately suspendthe dredging permit until the ground is properly marked.

Such initials shall also be placed upon each side of the prow of any boat orcraft used or employed in dredging or scraping the planting ground.
