§ 29.1-725. Certificate as notice of security interest.

The certificate of title, when issued by the Department showing a securityinterest, shall be deemed adequate notice to the Commonwealth, creditors, andpurchasers that a security interest in the watercraft exists and therecording or filing of such creation or reservation of a security interest inthe county or city wherein the purchaser or debtor resides or elsewhere shallnot be required. Watercraft, other than those which are inventory held forsale, for which a certificate of title has been issued under this chaptershall be exempt from the provisions of §§ 8.9A-309 to 8.9A-312, 8.9A-320,8.9A-322 to 8.9A-324, 8.9A-331, 8.9A-404 to 8.9A-406, 8.9A-501 to 8.9A-604,and 55-96.
