§ 3.2-709. Authority for compensation to growers in infested areas.

The Commissioner, when he determines that it is necessary to fulfill theobjectives of this article, may authorize the payment of reasonablecompensation to growers in infested areas for eliminating or not plantinghost crops, or otherwise controlling the target pest, pursuant toinstructions issued by the Commissioner or for losses or expenses resultingfrom the destruction of any host or regulated articles. No payment shall beauthorized for the destruction of regulated articles moved in violation ofany regulation or any hosts planted contrary to instructions issued by theCommissioner.
