§ 32.1-22. Personnel; Deputy Commissioner.

A. The Commissioner may employ such personnel as are necessary for the properperformance of his duties as executive officer of the Board.

B. The Commissioner, subject to the approval of the Board, may appoint aDeputy Commissioner of Health who shall meet the qualifications forappointment as Commissioner and who may exercise the powers and perform theduties of the Commissioner in the case of the absence or inability to act ofthe Commissioner.
