32.1-162.2 - Exemptions from article.

§ 32.1-162.2. Exemptions from article.

The provisions of this article shall not be applicable to:

1. A hospice established or operated for the practice of religious tenets ofany recognized church or denomination which provides care and treatment forthe sick by spiritual means without the use of any drug or material remedy,whether gratuitously or for compensation. Such a hospice shall comply withthe statutes and regulations governing environmental protection and lifesafety.

2. Any hospice located in the Commonwealth that after initial licensure isaccredited by any organization recognized by the Centers for Medicare andMedicaid Services for the purposes of Medicare certification.
