§ 32.1-176. Penalty.

In addition to the provisions of § 32.1-27, any owner who violates anyprovisions of this article or any order or regulation adopted pursuantthereto shall, upon such finding by a court of competent jurisdiction, beassessed a civil penalty of not more than $5,000 for each day of suchviolation. All penalties under this section shall be recovered in a civilaction brought by the Attorney General in the name of the Commonwealth. Civilpenalties collected pursuant to this section shall be paid into the statetreasury and credited to the Water Supply Assistance Grant Fund createdpursuant to § 32.1-171.2.
