§ 32.1-217. License and registration number; renewal; licenses nottransferable; responsibility of branch factories.

A. Every importer and every person manufacturing, renovating orreupholstering any bedding or upholstered furniture or processing or sellingany filling material to be used in articles of bedding or upholsteredfurniture shall first obtain a license from the Commissioner for each placeof business, subsidiary or branch operated by him for such purpose. Suchlicense shall be numbered, shall expire one year from the date of issue,shall be renewable annually unless sooner revoked and shall not betransferable. Each branch, branch factory and subsidiary shall be responsiblefor the contents and for the tagging, as provided in this article, of itemsof bedding and upholstered furniture made, remade, renovated, reupholsteredor imported by it and offered for sale or use in the Commonwealth.

B. The Commissioner shall assign a registration number to each licensee.
