§ 33.1-37. Establishment, construction and maintenance exclusively byCommonwealth; funds.

The roads embraced within "The State Highway System" shall be established,constructed and maintained exclusively by the Commonwealth under thedirection and supervision of the Commissioner, with such state funds as mayhereafter be appropriated and made available for such purposes, together withsuch appropriations as may be hereafter made by any county, district, city ortown in this Commonwealth and such funds as are now available or which mayhereafter be derived from the federal government for road building andimprovement in this Commonwealth.
