§ 36-99.4. Smoke detectors in certain juvenile care facilities.

Battery or AC-powered smoke detector devices shall be installed in all localand regional detention homes, group homes, and other residential carefacilities for children or juveniles which are operated by or under theauspices of the Department of Juvenile Justice, regardless of when thebuilding was constructed, in accordance with the provision of the UniformStatewide Building Code by July 1, 1986. Administrators of such homes andfacilities shall be responsible for the installation and maintenance of thesmoke detector devices.
