37.2-609 - Exemption from taxation.

§ 37.2-609. Exemption from taxation.

The exercise of the powers granted by this chapter shall be in all respectsfor the benefit of individuals in the authority's service area and for thepromotion of their safety, health, welfare, convenience, and prosperity. Asthe operation and maintenance of any behavioral health project that theauthority is authorized to undertake will constitute the performance of anessential governmental function, the authority shall not be required to payany taxes or assessments upon any behavioral health project acquired orconstructed by it or on the revenues generated by its operation.
