§ 37.2-702. Separate state facilities for geriatric consumers; free-standingstate facilities authorized.

The Department shall establish and operate a separate geriatric unit withineach state facility that serves significant numbers of elderly individuals.Each unit shall provide care and treatment for those persons and shall beseparated in a reasonable manner from the rest of the state facility.

The Board may, giving full consideration to the needs and resourcesavailable, authorize the establishment of free-standing state facilities forgeriatric consumers.
