38.2-225 - Disposition of fines and penalties.

§ 38.2-225. Disposition of fines and penalties.

A. All fines recovered for criminal violations of this title or for criminalviolations of rules, regulations, or orders issued pursuant to this titleshall be paid into the state treasury to the credit of the Literary Fund.

B. All penalties and compromise settlements recovered for civil violations ofthis title or civil violations of rules, regulations, or orders issuedpursuant to this title shall be paid into the state treasury. Pursuant to §§38.2-1620 and 38.2-1718 these funds shall be credited to the Literary Fund orif the Commission determines a need, to either (i) the Virginia Property andCasualty Insurance Guaranty Association established pursuant to Chapter 16 ofthis title or (ii) the Virginia Life, Accident and Sickness InsuranceGuaranty Association established pursuant to Chapter 17 of this title.
