38.2-3537 - Time of payment of claims.

§ 38.2-3537. Time of payment of claims.

Each group accident and sickness insurance policy shall contain a provisionthat all benefits payable under the policy other than benefits for loss oftime shall be payable within sixty days after receipt of proof of loss. Theprovision shall also state that, subject to proof of loss, all accruedbenefits payable under the policy for loss of time shall be paid at leastmonthly during the continuance of the period for which the insurer is liable,and that any balance remaining unpaid at the termination of such period willbe paid as soon as possible.
